I recently discovered the web site FreeRice, which challenges visitors with a series of progressively more difficult vocabulary quizzes, and for each correct answer, they donate 20 grains of rice to the U.N. World Food Programme. What's especially nice, from a visitor's standpoint, is that you don't have to register to participate.
I have played several rounds and here's the latest word challenge on my screen:
patagium means:
- lower jaw
- orange flower
- plan of action
- fold of skin
20 grains of rice to whoever guesses correctly. Better yet, go over to FreeRice.com and start flexing your vocabulary for a good cause!
