By Air

Milwaukee is served by General Mitchell International Airport, with daily flights on local favorite Midwest Airlines (gotta love those cookies!), Northwest, United, US Airways, Delta, Continental, Frontier, American Eagle, AirTran, and Air Canada.

Check out this colorful map of cities served by direct flights to and from Milwaukee!

Fun Fact: The following text appears on the Mitchell Airport web site: "When even one small pebble hits the water, everything is forever changed. The water level rises and the ripples of energy go out endlessly onto the shores and beyond." How cool is that?!

A large number of routes from around the country come into Chicago, where you can connect on the Hiawatha to Milwaukee. Visit the Amtrak web site for a complete listing of routes, schedules, and fares.

By Sea

Ahoy, Matey! You are quite the adventurer! If you wish to reach Milwaukee by water for our wedding weekend, you must provide your own boat. Sadly, the annual season for the Lake Express Ferry, linking Milwaukee with Muskegon across Lake Michigan, ends October 31, 2007.

About Wauwatosa

Wauwatosa, the first suburb west of Milwaukee, is where we live and where our wedding will take place. It is a lovely community known for its 1920s bungalows, tree-lined streets, excellent schools, numerous parks, and quaint downtown Village filled with shops and restaurants. Wauwatosa's neighborhoods still have a somewhat urban feel, with homes in walking distance of local businesses, but with a much lower crime rate than Milwaukee proper.

Fun Fact: "Wauwatosa" is a Potawotami word meaning "firefly" and Firefly is the name of our ceremony and reception venue!

Here is a map of Wauwatosa from 1892, looking east towards Milwaukee and Lake Michigan. Our house was built in 1905 on part of the piece of land represented by the inverted triangle in the lower center foreground of the map, above the word "THE" in the map's title.
