Greenery Update

  • Shade Garden: Given the recent downpours, the shade garden is a little soggy. Two of the three hostas are doing fine, but the third has turned a bit mushy. Hopefully it will dry out after tonight's rain and start to grow again. Doing much better is the Solomon's Seal (five out of six are growing, and the sixth is just starting to sprout from the soil). Here's a photo of the biggest one...

  • Death Zone: The plants are thriving! Those black walnut trees haven't yet killed the astilbe, lamb's ears, or hosta I planted 2 weeks ago.

  • Back Walkway Garden: All three of the pink Lily of the Valley plants are up, but none of the blossoms are out yet (or at least you can't tell they'll be pink yet). Check it out!

  • Front Right Garden: The poppies are sprouting! (5 out of 6, anyway.) Here's one now! I can't wait until the blooms show up...

The stonecrop (sedum) and Hens & Chicks that I put in are doing well, too...

Next I might try to do something with the Front Left Garden! But first, we need to hang up the hose reel to end all hose reels. Stay tuned...
