Grape Hyacinths, Here I Come!

Time for a garden update!

I've been disappointed with the performance of the pink Lily of the Valley I planted along our garage last year (two of the three bloomed white in the first year, the third one died; and this year, the surviving two sprouted leaves but no flowers). Tired of what is now essentially a bare-bones pile of mulch, I placed an order yesterday at John Scheepers for 200 Grape Hyacinth bulbs in a variety of colors. They are supposed to do well with minimal care (check!), in moderate light or shade (hopefully mostly shade will work...), and deer tend to avoid them (yay!) Here's what I'm hoping to see in the spring:
